The Galaxy S10, S20, S21, S22 series, Galaxy Note 10, Note 20 series, and Galaxy Z Fold series all support the use of Samsung DeX wirelessly on Miracast-enabled TVs. ![]() Most smart TVs or monitors using Miracast are compatible, but you'll get the best experience on Samsung Smart TVs released in 2019 or later. The best part is that no cables or DeX accessories are required. With the arrival of the Galaxy Note 20 series, you have the option to use DeX wirelessly on your smart TV. With so many ports, your desktop experience will be greatly improved. ![]() Of course, you can also insert the SD card of your camera or the TF card of other devices into the phone to read the content inside. And if you think Wi-Fi is too slow, you can connect your phone to a wired network through the Ethernet port. And as the charging port of the mobile phone is in use, you can charge the phone through the USB C PD port of the hub. The CableCreation’s 7-in-1 USB C hub lets you connect a wired mouse and keyboard along with an HDMI monitor. If you need more ports, you can also use a multifunctional USB C hub instead of a cable, and the method for connecting a TV/monitor is the same. While using a cable may be a popular option since it doesn't require an expensive dock, there are no extra ports to connect wired accessories like keyboard and mouse, so you'll be reliant on Bluetooth peripherals. To exit DeX, select the app icon in the lower-left corner of the DeX screen, then select Exit DeX. Please remember to save all changes before unplugging the cable. NOTE: Keep in mind that DeX will reboot if you remove or unplug the HDMI cable. The monitor will switch to Samsung DeX mode. Tap the Samsung DeX notification, then tap Samsung DeX and follow the instructions. To switch to Samsung DeX, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel. It's also perfect for multitasking or using productivity apps that are easier to use on a bigger screen, such as PowerPoint. Samsung DeX lets you connect your phone or tablet to a monitor or TV for a larger and clearer view in desktop mode. (Note that not all phones with a USB C port support video output) You can also switch your phone to DeX mode while keeping the HDMI cable connected. This is the advantage that the phone's USB C port supports video output as a USB C to HDMI cable can save the steps of wireless screencasting. Connect the USB C end to the phone and the HDMI end to the TV, and you can immediately see the phone screen mirrored to the TV. You can use the official DeX cableor a third-party USB C to HDMI cable. This is one of the most convenient ways to achieve the connection. The following are detailed instructions for the three methods. And the phone's USB C port also supports display function, so you can connect your S22 Ultra and TV/Monitor via DeX cable, USB C hub, or wireless DeX. Because it has a clever tool that can easily turn your smartphone or tablet into a desktop PC, and that is Samsung DeX. If you're new to Samsung and looking for a way to connect your new S22 Ultra to a TV or monitor, you should be glad you've picked up a Samsung smartphone. ![]() Explore the Civics tree to unlock powerful new governments and cultural policies ![]()
![]() For instance, if two identical time series are just shifted slightly, then this would result in a big distance. However, it is not necessarily clear which points should be compared to which in the two time series. The most naive way would be to just take the distance between each point in the time series. 3) without a distance 1-NN cannot determine which time series is nearest. By finding the nearest datapoint, the new datapoint can be classified as belonging to the yellow class.ĭTW is used to calculate the distance between two time series ( Fig. Based on a dataset of two classes (blue and yellow), a new datapoint (circle) is to be classified. You can also have k-nearest neighbors, where you find the k most similar time series and choose the most common class amongst those.įig. You then classify a new incoming time series by finding the time series in the training data that is most similar, and assign the new time series to the same class as that one. 2) is a simple technique where you have a training set of time series. So what are some of the algorithms used for time series classification? Dynamic time warping, a benchmark algorithmįor at least a decade, a technique called dynamic time warping (DTW) combined with 1-nearest neighbor (1-NN) has been a benchmark for other time series classification algorithms to beat. Classification on the other hand needs to find patterns in the data that are different between different classes in order to determine the class of the time series at hand. Rather it needs to find recurring patterns in data that are predictive of the (immediate) future. It doesn’t need to compare different time series with each other. Forecasting aims to predict the next future values, and as such often relies more heavily on the end of a time series. The purpose is different and hence the algorithms are, too. One should not confuse time series classification with forecasting. The difference to many classification problems in machine learning is that the data is ordered along the time dimension, and as such a good algorithm would need to exploit this property of the data. Finally, you use the test data to determine the performance of the chosen algorithm. You train a number of algorithms/models on time series in the training data, observe which algorithm performs the best on the validation data and choose that one. You typically divide the time series into three groups, the training data, the validation data and the test data. Supervised problems have the following procedure: You get a set of time series, each with a class label. In essence, time series classification is a type of supervised machine learning problem. What is time series classification with machine learning? You can imagine yourself that the applications of good algorithms are essentially without limit. Other types of data can also be viewed as/transformed into time series, such as written text, which is basically a time series but where the entities are not numeric. Generational Trauma DefinedĮxperts describe generational trauma as post-traumatic effects that aren’t just experienced by one person, but are handed down, like an unwanted legacy, from one generation to the next. And traumas such as this, in which an entire group of people face the same traumatic event, are more harmful when passed down generationally it’s not just one person or family who faces the damage inflicted by the trauma, but entire populations of people. human-chattel slave trade, the genocide of indigenous people, the forced internment of Japanese-Americans and more.Īll of this constitutes trauma just as much as any individual traumatic event. Even just within the United States, we can remember the enslavement of human beings in the U.S. Too many cultural and racial groups around the world have been subjected to community trauma throughout history. ![]() Many traumatic events are individual, for example: one person experiences an assault but community trauma also exists. Although we use the words traumatized or traumatic colloquially in everyday language, in the psychiatric world, “trauma” actually refers to something very specific: it’s the emotional reaction we have to a life-threatening or terrifying event. What Is Trauma?īefore we talk about generational trauma specifically, it’s important to be aware of what the word “trauma” actually means. In other words, we can inherit trauma, and its effects, from our ancestors. It can even reach out and continue to affect people for generations afterward. But through research, we now know that it’s much more complicated than that trauma affects much more than just the person who survived the event. ![]() We usually think of trauma as an individual matter one person survives a traumatic event, and unfortunately suffers the mental and physical health effects of that trauma. If we don’t start healing our generational trauma now, we risk passing it down to our own descendants, as well - like a family curse that just won’t go away. What we might not think about is something that we’d rather not inherit: our ancestors’ trauma.īut research is showing us more and more, that generational trauma (sometimes referred to as intergenerational or transgenerational trauma) exists, and has significant effects on the mental health of people who were born generations after the person who survived the traumatic event. When we think about things that we inherit from our ancestors, we might think of things like family heirlooms, physical characteristics, legends, names and even wealth. |
